Charles (Randy) Vinson

Randy serves as a church multiplication facilitator (CMF) in central Africa. In this role, he works closely with a Village Church Planting (VCP) supervisor who oversees the VCP work done in the region. Randy comes alongside the supervisor for vision-casting, comprehensive training, and coaching for the national church trainers and church planters. In addition to traveling to Africa several times a year, he will maintain frequent remote communication throughout the year while living in the United States.  

He attended Eastern Michigan University, where he majored in both microbiology and medical technology. After working for a season at the Detroit Medical Center, he spent seven months as the medical lab supervisor at a hospital in a central African country. Returning home, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary (ATS) for his Master of Divinity degree, where he majored in evangelism and missions. It was at ATS that Randy’s life was turned around through the Holy Spirit, discipleship groups, and being challenged by godly men who were totally surrendered to the Lord. Upon graduating, he pastored churches in four states. During this time, he took other mission trips of varying lengths to 12 other countries, totaling about 1.5 years of serving the Lord overseas.

He retired after 17 years as a pastor with the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Troy, Michigan. He still serves on district committees with his denomination. His passion is two-fold. The first is training and discipling the next generation of pastors, both in the U.S. and overseas. The second is seeing unreached peoples receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ and having churches planted in their villages.

He and Bernadette were married in 1984 and have three adult children and three grandchildren. Bernadette was the primary teacher for the children as she homeschooled them for 25 years. They enjoy watching sports and playing board games. Randy especially likes weightlifting, learning French, studying the Bible, and books from his library.
