OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding within OMS refers to the practices and procedures we have put into place to ensure the safety and well-being of all children and vulnerable adults under our care and responsibility.

Our desire is to prevent harm of any kind, whether physical, emotional, spiritual or sexual by creating a culture of health and accountability through screening, training, and appropriate, timely response to any concerns that may arise.

We believe that the most effective way to prevent harm is through awareness and cooperation and is the responsibility of every adult within OMS. We are committed to support all our members as we work together to create a place of safety where we can grow together toward what God has intended us to be.

The welfare and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is of utmost importance to One Mission Society, and we are committed to creating a culture that reflects the heart of God by providing a place where the vulnerable, and their families, can flourish.

AFFILIATION

OMS is part of the Child Safety Protection Network (CSPN) and utilizes the training guidelines given through CSPN. We commit to utilize the Child Safety Assessment Framework. That framework includes:

  1. Receive a child safety concern (report)
  2. Do an initial assessment to determine need and direction for further involvement
  3. Perform other assessments as needed (Child Safety, Misconduct, Impact)
  4. Establish carefully determined outcome decisions
  5. Work with OMS Leadership to determine a comprehensive response plan
  6. Review process in full

REPORTING

One Mission Society personnel and volunteers are responsible to report any suspicion of, or disclosures of, child (or vulnerable adult) harm within 24 hours to the Child Safety Officer. The OMS Child Safety Officer will promptly respond to any report.

This form is designed as an initial report for current suspicion, but may also be used to report historical allegations.
