OMS' Village Church Planting (VCP) ministry in Africa is partnering with the Global Methodist Church to train Global Methodist church planters to start new GMC congregations across Africa. The four-year VCP training experience equips men and women to multiply disciples, leaders, and churches.

Testimony From Brother M, a Church Planter in the DRC

My name is Brother M*. When I started taking courses at the Village Church Planting training center in Kanyama, I was still living in the village of L*. But as another church planter had already moved there for church planting work, I decided to start my planting work in K*. village. As it's 12km from L. village to K. village, I had to move with all my family.

On the 40th day of the 90 days of prayer period in the fall of 2024, while the Christians were praying for the planting of new churches and for church planters to find persons of peace, a mother came in with her pregnant daughter. It was the very day the girl was due to give birth to her first baby. 

Every day of the consultation, the doctor had told her that she wouldn't be able to give birth normally but would need an operation. The girl lived in anguish and fear.

As her mother had brought her to prayer, she asked the church to pray for the Lord to be gracious to her, as she didn't want her daughter to have an operation, and especially as there was no money for a probable operation.

I, and the whole church prayed for her; then I recommended that the mother go to a health center instead of a hospital. I recommended this because if the mother brought her daughter to a hospital, she would be operated on directly; whereas in a health center, they would first try to deliver her normally.

The mother and daughter obeyed, and by the time they arrived at the health center, the daughter had given birth without surgery.

So far, the mother and daughter's entire family have become members of the Global Methodist Church, Kantonye parish.
