Ensure that missionary candidates are shepherded and cared for through the onboarding, pre-field, and deployment process so that disciples, churches, leaders, and missionaries can be multiplied all for the glory of God.
Skills and Experience Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Support Raising Coaching Certification (OMS utilizes Via Generosity’s Support Raising Coaching Certification Program and will provide this training upon hire.)
- Demonstrated strength in administration and passion for utilizing administrative gifts.
- Comfortable using technology to conduct work and manage a heavy email workload.
- Passion for missions and interest in One Mission Society.
- Ability to write and communicate clearly and with empathy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Winsome interpersonal and communication skills in person, in writing, video calls, and over the phone.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with Zoom and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
- Cross-cultural experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with fundraising desired.
- Experience facilitating training, coaching conversations, or group instruction desired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor accepted missionary candidates from acceptance to field deployment.
- Facilitate Support Raising Launch training for new “special assignment” candidates.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure candidates are sent well and with excellence to their field of service through:
- Frequent check-in meetings with the candidate
- Ensuring the completion of orientation and onboarding tasks
- Assisting with enrollment in fundraising training
- Providing individualized fundraising coaching to help candidates maintain accountability, set goals, and successfully raise their support through Ministry Partner Development (MPD).
- Tracking candidate funding and other onboarding milestones, monitoring progress toward goals, managing candidate expense reports, and providing consistent follow-up to ensure timely completion of all requirements.
- Guiding candidates through final logistical steps for deployment, including coordinating travel and arrival details, keeping field leaders and departments informed of progress, facilitating prayer send-offs and providing follow-up during the transition period and as needed after deployment.
- Bridging the gap during the transition period by advocating for and walking alongside candidates as they prepare for and walk through their transition to the field of ministry.
- Demonstrate the love of Christ in personal conduct, in interactions with others, and with integrity while performing the duties in support of the mission and purpose of One Mission Society.
- Lead (or co-lead) the OMS USA Summer Internship Program, overseeing end-to-end program planning, implementation, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate hiring, onboarding, department integration, mentorship, learning opportunities, engagement activities, and cross-cultural missions to ensure a meaningful and successful internship experience.
- Learn, operate, and seek to improve processes of the onboarding, pre-field, and deployment journey to reduce barriers to missionary engagement.
- Maintain and update related documentation and resources, including manuals, meeting notes, and procedures.
- Approve expense reports.
- Represent OMS as needed at college fairs, Perspectives classes, and other key events.
Other Details
- This position is based at our Headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana.
- This position is fully paid by One Mission Society and does not require raising financial support.
- Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000
