We are Darren and Sherilyn Sweeney, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve in ministry together. We have three wonderful daughters, Kaitlyn, Emma, and Makenna.

In 2014, God used a short-term mission trip to Mozambique to lead our family into full-time ministry with One Mission Society. While serving there, we worked with students and community children through the Christian Academy of Mozambique and partnered closely with the local church. It was a tremendous privilege to witness what God is doing through the church in Mozambique.

At the end of 2017, God led our family back to the United States and into ministry with HOPE61, OMS’ human trafficking prevention ministry. Darren now serves as the global director of HOPE61, equipping and partnering with church leaders worldwide who are working to prevent human trafficking in their communities.

In addition to supporting the ministry of HOPE61, Sherilyn serves as the Safeguarding training coordinator, helping equip ministry leaders to protect children and vulnerable people through safeguarding training and practical prevention strategies. Safeguarding and human trafficking prevention go hand in hand, and we are grateful that God has continued to teach us what it looks like to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

As with all ministries of One Mission Society, the work of HOPE61 and Safeguarding centers on Jesus Christ and the Good News of salvation for people of all nations. Our prayer is that the training, resources, and partnerships developed through these ministries will serve as a catalyst for churches around the world to evangelize and disciple those who are most vulnerable in their communities.
