Chuck and Luci Long

Chuck and Luci Long spent four years in Colombia with One Mission Society, 15 years with Men for Missions (MFM), the laymen’s voice of OMS, and 7 years ministering to college and seminary students at the Asbury campuses in Wilmore, Kentucky. Now, they serve the Bluegrass and Northern Plains regions, helping churches and disciplining individuals to implement their dreams and visions of reaching the world for Christ.

In 1982, the Longs went to Colombia where Chuck filled vital roles as professor, administrator and treasurer for the Biblical Seminary of Colombia in Medellin. He also coordinated MFM work teams, helping complete various building projects. Luci showed hospitality to OMS personnel and guests visiting Medellin. As national administrator of MFM in the United States, Chuck promoted laymen’s involvement in world evangelism, primarily through a continuing schedule of work, evangelism and prayer teams to countries where OMS ministers. MFM is one of the largest organizations designed for lay participation in missionary activity. Beginning in June 1993, Chuck spent nearly a year overseeing construction of an OMS center in Hungary. In 1999, they became missionaries in residence at Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary, and for seven years, they prayed in new missionaries to serve with OMS. They also encouraged missionary kids (MKs) and other students at the Asbury campuses.

A graduate of Houghton College and Asbury Theological Seminary, Chuck also has 43 years of experience in construction and is an ordained pastor. Luci graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College with a degree in history and music. She traveled for a year with a contemporary Christian musical group and has taught elementary school.

The Longs have three adult children: Roderick, Juliana and Jonathan. Roderick and his wife Lori, with their two children, Eryn and Brett, and Juliana and her husband Jim live and work near Lexington, Kentucky. Jonathan and his wife Corinne, with baby Carter, live in Noblesville, Indiana, and are missionary candidates with OMS to Hungary.
