Journalism Intern

One Mission Society creates, edits, and proofreads many types of written and digital materials for our publications, website, promotional brochures, video scripts, and much more. If you love to write, we have opportunities to write stories every week for the OMS blog and other ministry sites, as well.

Specific duties may include writing blogs, articles for Outreach magazine, and working on promotional materials (graphics, content, and video) for OMS conferences and events. You may also be involved in researching and writing content for our One Mission Kids ministry.

Responsibilities
  • Writing, editing, proofreading, interviewing, digital and print publishing.
  • Write about God at work through the many missionaries and ministries of OMS.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to develop collateral material.
  • Be able to work remotely as needed.
Requirements
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ
  • Background, education, training, or experience in journalism, creative writing, communications, or related areas
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Accustomed to working within deadlines
  • Entering junior or senior year of college or post-graduate student

  • Compensation: $10 an hour
  • Housing: Included at OMS Headquarters

Optional: Short-term Mission Trip

Interns have the option to take a short-term mission trip to Colombia during their paid internship. This is an incredible opportunity to visit an OMS field and serve alongside an OMS missionary team for 7-10 days. Expenses for this trip must be raised by the intern; this trip is not paid for by One Mission Society.
