Roger and Mary Lou Skinner

Roger and Mary Lou Skinner have been involved in ministry for more than 40 years with One Mission Society, serving as field missionaries for more than two decades in Ecuador, South America. Roger and Mary Lou lived in Ecuador from 1973 to 1995. First assigned to evangelism and church planting, the Skinners were involved in many aspects of the OMS work in Ecuador. During their 22 years in Guayaquil, Roger served as field leader, professor and director of the Evangelical Bible Seminary and as pastor of the Christian Bible Church. Mary Lou provided a stable home for the family, directed and taught in the OMS grade school, helped in church ministries and hospitality and taught English classes.

The Skinners returned to the United States in 1995 and began work at the One Mission Society World Headquarters. Roger first served as director of recruitment, then as OMS USA executive director, and currently is a vice president at large. Roger serves as the church multiplication facilitator for Spain where he works with five church planting teams. He is involved with the Korean Evangelical Church of America and encourages second-generation Korean Americans as they seek God’s will for their lives and ministries. Roger also mentors and coaches the Mission Department Director for the OMS-related Interamerican Church in Colombia. After working 13 years in the Communications Department, Mary Lou now volunteers where needed.

Roger received a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Huntington College (now Huntington University), a master of divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and, in 2007, an honorary doctor of divinity degree from his alma mater, Huntington University. Mary Lou also graduated from Huntington College with a bachelor of science in education. The Skinners have four adult children, Marc, Andrea, Steve, and Laura, and six grandchildren.
