Larry and Sharon Freed

Since 2012, Larry and Sharon Freed have served with One Mission Society as church multiplication facilitators (CMFs) in the Philippines with Every Community for Christ. They empower the Filipino ECC team and denominational leaders to achieve their church multiplication goals through training, coaching, encouragement, and prayer support. In 2014, Larry became ECC director of church multiplication, overseeing the ECC CMFs and ACMFs (associate church multiplication facilitators), helping develop and implement training curriculum, and serving as event supervisor for seminars and international ECC events. Sharon serves as Larry’s administrative assistant and on the Dynamic Women in Missions training teams. Together, Larry and Sharon also work with the OMS Mobilization team recruiting CMFs and ACMFs.

Larry retired as lead pastor for the Christian Church at Cogan Station (PA), where he served on staff in various capacities from 1997 to 2013. Prior to that, Larry served as pastor in the Free Methodist Churches at Port Allegany and Austin (PA) and at Light and Life Chapel (Williamsport, PA). From 1988 to 1997, he helped found and served as director of the Family Life Institute of North Central PA, a program of Tressler Lutheran Services. In addition to directing the institute, he served as a family life educator and a marriage and family therapist. He was a part of a team that developed the Family Therapy Training Program for Temple University, and he served as adjunct faculty in the program from 1992 through 1998. Larry is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University (B.S. in engineering science), Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div. with a major in Christian education) and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min. in ministry to marriage and family). He is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the International Christian Coaching Association. He is also a certified Christian leadership coach through Coach Approach Ministries.

Sharon is a retired elementary vocal music teacher. She served in school districts in Webster, NY; Matawan, NJ; Jessamine County, KY; and Williamsport, PA. She directed Light and Life Nursery School in Williamsport, PA, from 1984 to 1994 and taught English as a Second Language at Kyong Hee University in Seoul, South Korea, and to housewives and kindergarten children in Seoul. Sharon is a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College, North Chili, NY. She has also done graduate work through the Westminister Choir College of Ryder University. In May 2017, she completed certification as a Christian life coach through Christian Mission International’s Foundational Coaching Skills (FOCOS) course.

Larry and Sharon have been happily married for 47 years. They have four adult children, all married, and 10 grandchildren. They enjoy spending time with family.
