Michael Shaferly
Missionary Account: #802869Michael serves as the country coordinator for Haiti. In this role, Michael serves as a point of contact between One Mission Society and ministry leaders in Haiti. He travels to Haiti several times a year to meet with and encourage ministry leaders. He also serves on the boards of several of the ministries. Michael has served in this capacity since 2020.
From 2016–2025, Michael served on the Men for Missions cabinet, a ministry of One Mission Society.
From 2011–2012, after an earthquake in 2010, Michael, his wife, Sarah, and their two children, Samuel and Hannah, lived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where they served with One Mission Society and Men for Missions. They were involved with the Homes for Haiti project, which helped build homes for people in OMS-related churches.
Michael is the oldest son of David and Marilyn Shaferly, who served as OMS missionaries in Haiti for more than 40 years. Michael was born in Haiti, and he and his brother, John, lived there until they completed high school.
