Dan and Sandy Poff

Dan and Sandy will join the OMS regional team, serving in Europe and the Middle East. Dan’s role will be as the regional director of leadership and team development. He comes to this position with extensive experience in administrative and academic positions. Dan is a trained conflict mediator and certified life coach, providing leadership and team development and relationship coaching. In addition, from 2015 through 2019, he provided a leadership and ministry development program called The Thrive Project with the Atlantic District of the Wesleyan Church, Canada.

From 2012 through June of 2020, he was the Terry T. Mundy endowed chair of life calling, associate professor of leadership studies, and life coach with the School Life Calling and Integrative Learning at Indiana Wesleyan University. His areas of expertise and research interest include emotional/social intelligence and the application of family systems theory to team functioning and leadership.

Dan earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Ohio State University and a doctoral degree from Purdue University in family science and marital and family therapy in 1999.

Sandy is a registered nurse and comes to OMS after a long career in nursing. Sandy’s major focus of work was in the field of occupational health. In 1995, she achieved designation as a certified occupational health nurse specialist and certification in case management. Sandy mentored many nurses throughout her career as a manager, case manager, and nurse consultant. In her personal life, Sandy was very involved in women’s ministries and teaching children's church for preschool-age children. Sandy will serve as an administrative assistant to Dan and will contribute to the creation and coordination of field and regional team programs.

Dan and Sandy have two adult children. Ben, married to Amanda, lives near Nashville, Tennessee. Ben is on faculty at Belmont University. Ben and Amanda have two young daughters. Their daughter Corinne and her husband Jonathan, serve as career missionaries with One Mission Society in the Europe/Middle East region. They live in Budapest, Hungary, with their three children.
