Ed and Gilda Williamson

The Williamson have served in the U.S., the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mexico, the Philippines, and Myanmar in church planting, discipleship, and evangelism training, as well as medical missions. They currently serve as One Mission Society special assignment missionaries for Myanmar, formerly Burma.

Rev. Dr. Edward Williamson and his wife, Gilda Day Williamson, began their missionary career with One Mission Society in 2018. However, Ed’s history with OMS began as a Board member in 1997. He served as chairman of the Board for more than 10 years prior to being called to serve OMS as vice president at large. Ed’s primary focus is to be an OMS liaison for the newly formed Global Methodist Church, formerly the Wesleyan Covenant Association, and to serve as the Every Community for Christ church multiplication facilitator for Myanmar.

Gilda retired after 36 years in public education to answer a call to missions with OMS. She currently serves as coordinator for the Myanmar Dynamic Women in Missions. Together, Gilda and the dedicated pastors’ wives of the Myanmar Evangelical Methodist Church established the Myanmar Dynamic Women in Missions ministry in 2019. Expanding into the Myanmar Evangelical Holiness denomination in 2022, God is blessing the war-torn country of Myanmar with faithful women seeking to serve him. These teams empower women by teaching discipleship and evangelism skills so they may confidently share the Gospel, disciple believers, and assist in church multiplication.

The Williamsons have 5 grown children and 18 grandchildren. They are also honored to be called Papù and Papí by several Mizo Chin grandchildren, whom they love as their own. They ask you to pray for the lost, to pray for boldness for those sharing the Gospel, and protection for those serving God in life-threatening situations. To God be the glory.
