BJ and Andi Williamson
Missionary Account: #802324BJ and Andrea Williamson began their OMS career in 2004, working as church planters with the eXtreme Walk ministry in Ecuador. They served as team leaders and district liaisons until 2015 and continued in a team leader role for the West Loja outreach ministry until 2020. Along with their teams, they served in the least-reached province of Ecuador (Loja), pioneering church planting and church growth in key communities. Through the years, they have celebrated God’s grace toward churches and leaders.
BJ is transitioning from his role as OMS’ production team’s translation liaison and into a new ministry role with OMS’ Men for Missions (MFM) ministry, working as a regional director in Kentucky. In this position, he promotes cooperation between OMS and the local church. Connecting local churches with the global church is part of his vison for ministry. He desires to promote opportunities, involving churches in missions through service, short-term mission trips, and outreach to help reach people for Christ, revitalize the church, raise up a mission force, and train and lead short-term teams.
For the past several years, BJ has used his gifts and talents to serve in the Latin America/Caribbean region as an associate church multiplication facilitator, where he connects specifically with leaders and comes alongside Ecuadorian pastoral teams. This role allows him to coach leaders, encourage them, and strengthen their impact through regular video chats, phone calls, emails, and in-person visits.
BJ and Andrea both hold undergraduate degrees from Asbury University. BJ received his degree in Bible and theology, and Andrea’s degree is in missiology. BJ also completed his degree in theology at SEMBEC, an OMS partner seminary in Cuenca, Ecuador. He is currently enrolled in a coaching course entitled: Foundations for Coaching Excellence and will receive a certificate in coaching.
The Williamsons were married in October of 2003. They welcomed their first child, Elijah, in April 2006 (currently attending Asbury University); their daughter Lydia in July 2008, son Micah in April 2013, and Jonathan, their newest family member born in 2016 and adopted in Nov. 2019.
