Scott and Kathy Murphy
Missionary Account: #801481Scott and Kathy Murphy served in Spain with One Mission Society in a variety of ministries for 38 years. They were involved in pioneer church planting and discipleship, field administration, music ministry, and teaching in the United Evangelical Theological Seminary where Kathy also served as librarian.
Beginning in 2007, Scott served as the international regional director for the Europe/Middle East region. In 2020, OMS asked them to move to begin serving at the OMS World Headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana, where Scott began his role as vice president of administration for Global Ministries in October 2020. He has worked alongside of the executive director of Global Ministries, providing support in the area of finance, logistics, and general administration
The Murphys also have participated in the ministry of Nueva Vida (New Life), a Hispanic church in Indianapolis.
Scott and Kathy retired on August 1, 2023, after nearly 41 and 46 years of service with OMS respectively. Scott continues to volunteer part-time, working remotely in an administrative role with Global Ministries. He also serves as the church multiplication facilitator for the Peace and Hope network of churches in Spain. It is a privilege to train, mentor, and encourage the leaders of this growing network as they disciple new believers and train them to be disciple-makers themselves so the church of Jesus Christ will continue to grow and multiply in Spain.
