Does spending your summer serving at the beautiful Peña de Horeb camp in the heart of Spain sound intriguing to you? Come join us this summer and help our team support the local church, host volunteer teams, and participate in two children’s sports/English camps. A large part of your time here will including helping with meal preparation and service, assisting with clean up, and completing other projects at the camp, such as landscaping, routine maintenance, and special projects.
During your time with Embark you will serve with One Mission Society, build relationships with volunteers and teams, receive mentorship from experienced missionaries, work alongside a team of other like-minded OMS interns, expand and hone your skill set, and grow in your ministry approach to evangelism, discipleship, and communicating your testimony.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to have fun with teenagers and build rapport.
- Be willing to lead games, small groups, and other camp activities.
- Assist camp staff in kitchen and housekeeping duties.
- Help with hosting volunteers and guests.
- Have the ability to work long and physically demanding days at the camp facility.
- Be willing to share testimony and beliefs in an honest and friendly way.
- Must be willing to participate in several video calls before the trip to discuss expectations and the process.
- High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
- Willingness to find common ground with people despite language barriers and cultural differences.
- Basic Spanish preferred.
- Comfortable sharing and talking with new acquaintances.
- Able to relax and have fun in varied environments.
- Have some knowledge and experience working in summer camps.
- You will be serving from early-June to mid-August.
- You will live and serve at Campamento Peña de Horeb, our beautiful camp facility overlooking the Tajo River.
- You will get to visit several cities in central Spain and experience the local culture.
- Cost will be $4800 (not including travel expenses).
- This is a volunteer internship that requires raising financial support through ministry partners.
