Purpose Quest

The vision of Purpose Quest is to equip people throughout Europe to serve the Lord in a more focused way, where they already live and work. It is a marketplace ministry that empowers Jesus followers in fellowship, as well as deep self-awareness toward Christlike maturity and missions.

Over the past 20 years, we have been developing a group-based, deep-dive personal reflection toward God's purpose. Each cohort involves 4-8 committed people willing to be honest with themselves, God and one another. The cohort process includes accountability, feedback, and prayer in community. No one goes it alone in God's kingdom.

Unlike many personality and gift inventories and mentoring systems, Purpose Quest is focused on Scripture and listening prayer, connecting with the Author of life, the Vine. It also looks at the past in order to chart the course forward. God showed the Israelites how to gather from history to learn and grow. The people of God were marked by key turning points. For example, Moses and the burning bush (Exodus 3), Balaam’s talking donkey (Numbers 2), Gideon and the angel of the Lord (Judges 6), tongues of fire falling on the believers gathered (Acts 2), each instance, reminding Israelites of how Adonai led and provided for them. Such remembrances boosted their faith and sharpened their true identity.

Afterward, there is follow-up. Some will pray for and find mentors and mentees, and all should have an accountability group of 2-4 that meets regularly to set goals, check in, and pray. Once or twice a year, all alums will come together to pray and listen for and with one another and stay sharp and on track. On these retreats, we will also tune up our accountability groups and perhaps find partners in that process.

Gifts to this ministry facilitate all of the above, especially the retreats that might be inaccessible to some alums.
