The One Mission Society Latin America region has a vision to transform lives in dynamic communities. You'll serve in your area of focus while being part of localized summer ministry experiences. You'll also be poured into by a team of missionaries as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for this experience is that by the time you return home, you will feel more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, expand your skill set, grow in your relationship with God, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.
During your time with Embark you will serve with One Mission Society, build relationships with volunteers and teams, receive mentorship from experienced missionaries, work alongside a team of other like-minded OMS interns, expand and hone your skill set, and grow in your ministry approach to evangelism, discipleship, and communicating your testimony.
Skills:
Lugar de Shalom, also known as Camp Pallatanga, is a camp in Central Ecuador. The camp has a capacity of 120 campers and is used for many different ministries. The various ministries include church/youth retreats, training retreats, pastor retreats, and different activities of national churches. You will be working alongside groups or during retreats. You will help with general maintenance and care for the camp. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work in the community of Pallatanga through our local church. Potential activities include English classes, kids' programs, and service projects for the community.
Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Some college preferred
- Basic Spanish language skills
- Ability to relate well with people
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms)
- Ability to do manual labor
- This opportunity is available anytime during February through August 2026.
- You will be staying at the camp in a dormitory.
- Cost will be $4,500 (includes travel expenses).
- Our team in Ecuador has three primary ministry locations. This one (at a camp), in Chongón (on the coast), and Loja (in the mountains). If you are interested in a multi-location opportunity within Ecuador, please contact us for more details.
- This is a volunteer internship that requires raising financial support through ministry partners.
