Millón de Gracias (A Million Thanks) Campaign

The Biblical Seminary of Colombia - FUSBC

One Mission Society founded the Biblical Seminary of Colombia in 1944 to train students in biblical and pastoral skills and in the practical skills of planting and ministering to new church congregations. Royalties from OMS cofounder Lettie Cowman’s well-known devotional, Streams in the Desert, provided the needed funds to purchase the seminary property.

From the beginning, students were involved in evangelism in Medellín and the surrounding areas, and they often encountered violent opposition in their efforts. Nevertheless, the vision of training, equipping, and sending kingdom workers into the world continues in the DNA of the Colombia seminary.

Today, the vision remains as clear as ever. The seminary serves as the anchor school or hub for many seminaries and Bible colleges throughout the Latin America region, providing support and core online courses for partner schools.

Through the Millón de Gracias (A Million Thanks) campaign, OMS, alongside the Colombia seminary and Asbury seminary, seek to raise one million dollars to grow the impact and sustainability of the Biblical Seminary of Colombia. The critical need to provide high quality theological education, spiritual formation, practical ministry experience, and launch these equipped men and women of God to transform the world for Jesus is as relevant today as it ever was!

The Biblical Seminary of Colombia has in-person and online degree programs in theology, Bible, and pastoral studies at the undergraduate and master’s levels. Further, the seminary provides certificate courses, many offered through extension programs for thousands of students in the region. The seminary currently partners with Asbury Theological Seminary to increase impact through a joint master’s program and other areas of strategic collaboration.
