Mel and Fran Noah

Mel and Fran Noah have been missionaries in Brazil with One Mission Society since 1972. While providing field leadership to OMS missionaries, the Noahs have strived to build a stable Brazilian church through training and partnering in one-on-one relationships.

Mel has served as field director, seminary director and member of the board of the Londrina Bible Seminary. He is currently working in the seminary as a Bible professor. Mel also served on the Every Community for Christ committee and in the theological department of the seminary.

Fran has taught English in the Webb Idioms Christian Academy; worked in couples’ ministry; helped plan marriage retreats in their local church; worked with the seminary student scholarships, coordinating the translation of reports; and served as prayer chairman.

Mel and Fran are both graduates of Asbury College and taught school in Lexington, Kentucky. Mel earned his master’s in religious education degree in Christian education in 1979 from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He completed his master’s of divinity degree in 1985 and completed a doctor of missiology degree in 1999. The son of missionaries, Mel was raised in Angola and Zimbabwe, formerly Southern Rhodesia.

The Noahs have three adult children: married sons Chris and Neil, daughter Jennifer and four grandchildren.

One Mission Society is an evangelical, interdenominational faith mission that makes disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional evangelism, planting churches and training national leaders in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America. OMS then joins with those churches in global partnerships to reach the rest of the world.
