Aimee Howarth

Due to my continual head pain, I have been in the U.S. on medical leave with One Mission Society, and I am still a missionary with OMS. But, my medical leave period ended in April 2020, and I can no longer receive medical insurance or salary. For this period, I am on special assignment with OMS. I am in the process of signing up for medical insurance provided through the state government, and I continue to ask God for faith, guidance, and endurance in this valley. My support account will remain active, and I will be able to use it when I return to Mozambique. I do believe that God will heal me. I do not believe that God is releasing me from serving with OMS in Mozambique, but He has not healed me yet. I wanted to share this important update with you so you can make an informed decision on whether you would like to stop supporting me financially during this time. I will continue to keep you updated on my health situation and status with OMS. I am so thankful for your faithful prayer and support!

Aimee Howarth grew up California and received her bachelor of science in English and education from the University of Miami in Florida. After wholly surrendering her life to Christ in 2001, God called her to serve him in Africa.

From 2002-2004, she served as a teacher at Christian Academy in Mozambique in the province of Maputo. During Aimee’s second year there, God gave her a desire to partner with the national Mozambican church, going north of the Maputo province for evangelism, church planting, and discipleship training. To prepare for this, she returned to California in 2004 to complete a master of arts in cross-cultural studies from Fuller Theological Seminary.

In 2009, Aimee returned to Maputo, Mozambique where she worked on language and culture learning, and relationship building. She served in Mozambican women’s ministries and alongside of the pastors of the Mozambican churches for the next six years.

From 2010-2015, while living in Maputo, Aimee took monthly trips with Mozambican church leaders north to the province of Inhambane. There, she continued to learn and build relationships, while serving in evangelism, church planting, and discipleship.
