Bob and Norma Jean Erny

Bob’s parents, Eugene and Esther Erny, were serving as missionaries in East Asia when Bob was born. He grew up in East Asia and India.

Bob, with his wife Phyllis, served in Hong Kong, the South Pacific and also at the One Mission Society World Headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana. He has filled various roles in mission leadership and taught in OMS seminaries in Hong Kong and the South Pacific. Phyllis died in 2003 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.

Norma Jean and her husband, Helmut Schultz, served as OMS missionaries in Japan for almost 30 years. They also pastored churches in Indiana and Kentucky. They served for five years as pastors to OMS missionaries worldwide and later were campus recruiting representatives for OMS in the United States. Helmut died of cancer in 2002.

Bob and Norma Jean were married in 2004 and served together for nine months soon thereafter in Hong Kong as OMS missionaries. They continue to be active in OMS missionary assignments today.

One Mission Society is an evangelical, interdenominational faith mission that makes disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional evangelism, planting churches and training national leaders in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America. OMS then joins with those churches in global partnerships to reach the rest of the world.
