Daniel and Gail Castro
Missionary Account: #801760The Castros have been serving God through OMS since the early 1990s.
Gail grew up in the northeast of England and came to faith at a youth camp when she was 13 years old. After completing her theological training at Northumbria Bible College, she felt a call to missions. Following God’s direction, Gail arrived in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1991 as an OMS missionary. Daniel was born in Colombia into a Christian family. In his early teenage years, he felt a call to serve God. Upon finishing his theological training at an OMS theological seminary in Colombia, he went to work in the Christian Fellowship Church in Bogota, where he met Gail. Daniel and Gail got married in 1993 and served in Colombia for 14 years in worship ministry, social outreach, Bible training, and church planting.
In 2007, they returned to the UK for home assignment and a period of further theological training. Planning on returning to Colombia, they felt God redirecting their steps to Spain, where OMS has been serving since 1972.
In 2010, the Castros arrived in Spain and have been involved in church planting and as part of the leadership of the Christian Community of Camarma, a growing church 30 miles east of Madrid. For several years, Daniel has also been involved as director of the OMS Spain field.
Daniel and Gail share a passion for presenting God’s message in challenging and relevant ways and a commitment to discipleship, church development, and the training of Christian leadership. These have been central to their ministry involvement in Spain for the last nine years.
The Castros have two daughters, Melissa and Ruth, both born in Colombia and currently studying at university in the UK.
