Maputo Biblical & Theological Seminary
Project Account: #302000On September 12, 2007, OMS missionaries, representatives, partners, and friends gathered together to celebrate the completion of the new seminary building for the Maputo Biblical & Theological Seminary (MBTS) and to explore next steps for theological education in Mozambique. At that meeting, Pastor Mordecai Nhabanga said, “While good theology is important, what is lacking in much of Mozambique is good leadership.” He went on to encourage the seminary to focus on leadership development for the Mozambican church.
OMS agreed with Pastor Mordecai in 2017, and we still agree with him today. Leadership matters. As John Maxwell once said, “Everything rises and falls on leadership.” Our vision is to continue to invest in Mozambican women and men who will lead their homes, churches, ministries, and communities in the truth and grace of God’s kingdom, impacting this nation for Christ.
