One Mission Society partners with missionaries, national leaders, and ministry projects across an 86-country footprint. We're seeking a dynamic, proven fundraiser to help fund this worldwide ministry as our next Mission Advancement Officer.
The ideal candidate brings a track record in major donor development and the relational skill to connect authentically with a wide range of donors. Above all, our Mission Advancement Officer cares deeply about helping major donors find meaningful ways to participate in the mission of God around the world through their giving.
This role calls for someone who can engage donors with both a skilled hand and a heart of deep integrity, building lasting relationships that turn generosity into global impact.
This role is a remote position that would be based in the Western region of the United States (preferably in the Pacific Northwest).
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree in business, sales or marketing desirable.
- A self-starter with the highest level of personal and professional integrity and quality standards.
- A strong commitment to, and understanding of the mission, goals and values of the ministry.
- Able to be confidential in all donor conversations and engagement activities.
- Desires to be held accountable: welcomes goals that help define success in the assignment.
- 3-5+ years of confirmable successful fundraising experience with progressively increasing results.
- Verifiable success in asking major donors for leadership-level and major gifts.
- Intuitive, big-picture thinker.
- Internally motivated.
- A strong empathy for the goals, values and dreams of the donors.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, including demonstrated success in proposal development and presentation.
- Strategic thinker, planner, organized with good time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Teachable.
- Disciplined: meets deadlines, able to prioritize between projects, manages assignment within budgets.
- An excitement for “selling” and understands that the donor-ministry partnership is between equal partners.
- Shows resiliency and responds positively even if the answer is "no."
- Quickly able to understand OMS’s ministry concepts and articulate them persuasively.
- Personally generous as a donor
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and cultivate friends from your assigned existing donors, as well as utilizing your personal and professional spheres of influence to expand the OMS donor base in your region.
- Qualify and implement a moves management system of a donor portfolio of at least 150 names (individuals, strategic churches, businesses, etc.) with emphasis on developing major gifts, and utilizing OMS ministry networks to regularly expand your list. Donor lists will be evaluated quarterly with rotating 20% nonresponsive donors off the donor portfolio and adding 20 new potential donors quarterly.
- Represent the ministry regionally, including but not limited to speaking to various groups and individual leaders and business organizations.
- Prepare annual goals, including activities which help to achieve specific fund raising targets, in consultation with the Senior Director of Development.
- Communicate regularly with the Senior Director of Development as to activities, meetings and travel.
- Document all donor interactions and donor engagement activities into Salesforce CRM per instruction of the Senior Director of Development.
- Implement performance standards as assigned by Senior Director of Development to be evaluated every two weeks by the Senior Director of Development for compliance and reporting.
- Written agreement and adherence to code of conduct of OMS and the OMS Stewardship Department.

Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000
