Short-Term Team Coordinator

The Short-Term Team Coordinator will support the vision of the field by providing hospitality and logistics for short-term teams as they visit and serve the field. They will oversee and care for the teams that the Field Director assigns them and will serve as "spiritual directors" for the short-term team members. This role is needed in Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent the OMS Field and Ministry Partners by delegating responsibilities to the short-term teams and supervising the work they are doing.
  • Provide complete support for assigned short-term teams that come to the field.
  • Have full working knowledge of the various ministries with whom the short-term teams will serve.
  • Relay all pertinent information about short-term team members back to the Field Leader and the home country liaison.
  • Work in conjunction with the Field Leader and the Field Treasurer to determine how to manage team finances, materials purchases, etc..
  • Support the general ministry of the field.
  • Weave the compassion of Christ into all tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise short-term teams while visiting in country.
  • Be the spiritual leader for these teams. Ensure that devotions are included in the daily activities of every team.
  • Be sure there is a time of team debrief every evening while teams are there. Take note of how God is moving in people's lives and encourage them in that journey. Be certain to challenge the team at the end of their time with ways they can be further involved in the ministries of OMS. Involve the Field and/or the OMS country (where the team came from) as deemed appropriate.
  • Provide logistical and hospitality needs for assigned short-term teams. Hospitality can include, but is not limited to, preparing rooms for arrival of teams, preparation for the ministry the team will be doing, airport runs, team orientation, daily devotions and debriefings, meal schedules, team transportation, currency exchange, healthcare and first aid, cultural/sightseeing trips, trip debrief.
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in church ministry desired.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading a team desired.
  • Mission experience and/or cross-cultural experience highly desired.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to delegate and supervise.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Willingness to be a servant-leader.
  • Have good listening skills.
  • Considerable experience in leadership and working with people.
  • A teachable spirit.
  • Basic computer skills such as e-mail, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
  • Language fluency required.
This is a support-based position that involves raising financial support through ministry partners for salary and other expenses.
