Timothy Hargrove

Tim and Kelly Hargrove have been married and serving in ministry together for 34 years. They have twin girls named Corie and Cadie, age 24. In the last few years, they have adopted two other children named Bella and Tristan, ages 4 and 3. Tim says, “If you’re questioning our sanity, that’s ok. We question it too!”

Tim found Christ at a young age and grew up attending church with his parents in Roswell, New Mexico. By age 13, he experienced more than 40 fractures and had to attend school in a wheelchair through the 10th grade. Even though this was a time of great physical suffering, it was during this time that he experienced God’s love in a real way and discovered that God had a purpose for his life.

At age 19, he answered God’s call to serve him however and wherever he desired. He wasn’t exactly sure what God wanted him to do, but he was willing to take the next step. For him, this meant attending a Bible college in Los Angeles.

In 1987, he graduated from college, married Kelly, and moved to a small town in northwest New Mexico to start his ministry in a small church of about 75 adults. Very soon, something amazing began to happen that he had never experienced before. The church began to reach people who were far away from God and teach them how to follow Christ. Over the next decade, the church surpassed 1,000 people in weekly attendance and has just kept going from there.

Tim believes that Christ has given his church a compelling mission–to love God, love people, and make disciples who impact the world for Christ … the whole world. So, after a 34-year relationship with Piñon Hills Community Church, serving as the senior associate pastor, serving as a church planter in British Columbia, and leading short-term mission teams around the world, Tim again answered God’s call to serve him however and wherever he desires.

In 2021, he joined the team of People Prosper International to help empower people in high poverty areas to fund their lives and ministries. His heart breaks for the men, women, and children who are suffering in high poverty conditions. For most of his life, he believed that the problem of material poverty was too big. Today, he believes differently and feels he can no longer ignore the problem.

Tim is excited to be joining OMS as an associate church multiplication facilitator or ACMF to the Philippines and is honored to serve alongside veteran leaders such as Larry and Sharon Freed and the ECC Philippines team. Tim says, “I am still overwhelmed by the power of the Gospel to transform lives, families, and communities. Kelly and I are thankful to be a part of the work God is doing, and we can’t wait to see what God is going to do next!”

Tim also holds master’s degrees in organizational leadership and religious education from Trinity Western University and Liberty University.
