Debbie Wittig

Since 1974, Debbie Wittig has served with One Mission Society as a school teacher for missionary kids (MKs) in India, Japan, and the South Pacific.

Her first assignment was at Woodstock School in India where she taught for three years. She then spent a year and a half at Christian Academy in Japan before going to teach at an MK school in the South Pacific.

After waiting three years for a visa, Debbie arrived at the school in 1980. Through the years, she has taught everything from kindergarten to high school English. Most recently, she taught junior high English and Bible classes and enjoyed the challenge of high school Spanish. Debbie also sought to make a difference in the lives of people in her community through involvement in her church and with friendship evangelism.

Due to government regulations, Debbie has left the South Pacific and is preparing to go to Mozambique to teach at the Christian Academy in Mozambique.

Debbie was reared by missionary parents in the mountain city of Medellín, Colombia, and along the rural low-lying river areas of that South American republic. She received her B.A. degree from Seattle Pacific University and her M.S. in education from Indiana University/Purdue University in Indianapolis. She taught for two years at Southside Christian School in Indianapolis before going to India.
