Paul and Anita Pawelski
Missionary Account: #802495Paul Pawelski never lost the love of other cultures and peoples he learned as a small child while living without electricity in an adobe house in the middle of the Mexican desert. When Paul was still a child, his family moved to work in urban ministries in Dayton, Ohio. In this new challenging and rewarding environment, God began to define Paul’s own ministry call and focus. Church renewal, community outreach, and development became priorities.
He married Anita, a pastor’s daughter from Canada, and after a few more years working in the city, they moved to Michigan to pastor a church. Ministry now was in a rural community. This was a special time of growing, developing relationships, and learning new ministry skills. During this time, they also trained and gained experience in professional coaching and positive human behavior development.
After about eight years of pastoral service, they began to sense God’s direction into a new ministry—a ministry that would be more fully focused on helping new people hear the message of God’s love and grow in their relationship with him. After some delays in finding the right role in ministry, they discovered God was using these experiences to prepare them for his call to an emerging, nontraditional approach that would reach people in the reality of today’s world.
They connected with One Mission Society and found the church multiplication facilitator position to be a match to their call and gifting. Paul and Anita are excited about the church planting work of Every Community for Christ and the role Paul will have to train, encourage, and follow up with the dedicated people who are telling their neighbors about Jesus Christ. They now enjoy working with leaders around the world from a base in Michigan.
Paul’s work includes serving as an associate church multiplication facilitator for Ecuador. He is also coordinating a new ministry to provide specific coaching follow-up with the Every Community for Christ Church Multiplication Team. This will help develop strategically focused and individually equipped leaders and will advance the work around the world to help people give their neighbors the opportunity to hear, understand, and respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ.
