Susan Loobie - #802290

Susan (Griswold) Loobie received her call to missionary service in 1986 while studying journalism at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

After graduating from Ball State in 1988, Susan entered Wheaton College Graduate School and earned a master’s degree in intercultural studies/missions, with an emphasis in teaching English as a second language (TESL).

Susan’s work and ministry experiences, including working at a Christian adoption agency, organizing exhibits at InterVarsity’s Urbana Student Mission Convention, and serving as a field missionary in Spain and Mexico, have paved the way to help her in her current ministry position, serving as a homeland missionary at the One Mission Society World Headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana.

In 2003, Susan, her husband Patrick (from Trinidad), and their two children, Caleb and Rachel, moved to Indiana from Miami, Florida. With the calling still alive in her heart, Susan heard about OMS’ need and responded.

Since 2007, she has served as the director of the 9-person Communications Department. Each day, she has the privilege of leading the team to inform, inspire, and involve OMS supporters in deeper mission participation.

Before joining OMS, Susan served with Latin America Mission (LAM) for 10 years, both as a field missionary and as a support staff member in the U.S., working as the editor of LAM’s magazine.

It is only through the faithfulness and generosity of God’s people that Susan continues, after more than 30 years of full-time Christian service, to fulfill his call upon her life to “go into all the nations, making disciples and teaching them all that he has commanded.”
