David Schnake

David has been faithfully following the Lord’s plan for most of his life. That plan has led him to serve with One Mission Society where he will be ministering to Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary students in Wilmore, Kentucky, at the OMS Asbury Student Leadership Development Center. David will be guiding university and seminary students in practical leadership development and exposing students to cross-cultural missions through annual short-term mission trips to various OMS fields.

David is a second-generation missionary and is the son of former OMS missionaries. His dad is an Asbury Theological Seminary alumnus and his mother an Asbury University alumna. His parents served a term with OMS in the South Pacific in the late 1970s where David spent much of his childhood.

David received his undergraduate degree from Ball State University and worked in bank management and CRM software sales for 10 years before entering vocational ministry with Youth For Christ as an executive director. From 2007 to 2020 he has served two different churches as a youth and young adults director and as an ordained youth pastor. David is currently working to finish his master of divinity degree at Asbury Theological Seminary.

David enjoys spending time with his wife Janelle and their three children, Elayna (2000), Kalen (2003), and Liora (2006). His hobbies include weight lifting, playing basketball, and fishing with his son KJ. David has a distinct gift of connecting with young people. He is passionate about leadership development and inspiring and equipping the next generation to obediently fulfill the Great Commission. He is committed to missions ministry and praying to see the Lord “send workers into his harvest field.”
