Weston Pendergrass and Chrisie Reeves-Pendergrass

Weston and Chrisie both felt God’s call to ministry years ago. Chrisie, while at church camp and Weston as a teenager exploring his spirituality on a mission trip. Both hold undergraduate degrees and seminary degrees from Duke Divinity School. Both are ordained pastors with roughly a decade each of full-time service as pastors, while Chrisie has almost as many years of experience working on staff in churches.

Chrisie felt the call to international ministry as a teenager when attending a church that was very active in missions locally, domestically, and internationally. Weston, on the other hand, never imagined living anywhere but “home,” until finally he quit being stubborn and listened to God calling the family elsewhere.

In Hungary, Weston will serve as the discipleship coordinator, working with partner congregations to develop discipleship strategies that help members go deeper in their faith and spiritual practices, as well as train congregational leadership. Chrisie will serve as the community impact coordinator, working with the OMS team in Hungary to develop partnerships with local organizations and congregations in order to engage with their respective communities. Chrisie and Weston view their individual ministries as two sides to the same coin: helping partner churches grow deeper in their faith and taking that faith out into the community.

The Reeves-Pendergrass family is made up of Weston, Chrisie, and Samuel. Samuel’s story is yet another witness of God’s love, as he was adopted at birth after Weston’s and Chrisie’s long journey through infertility and fallen-through adoptions. Finally, Weston and Chrisie were only given a month to prepare to welcome Samuel into their family and their congregation rallied around them to help bring him home!

The family loves board games, binge-watching good shows, discovering new and delicious food, video games, and generally having fun.
