Beth Jordal began her career as a missionary with One Mission Society as an application coordinator in the Mobilization Department, and within a year, she added mentoring and coaching to her responsibilities as she worked alongside people who wanted to serve overseas short-term. From pamphlet to plane and back again, Beth helped short-termers with logistics and ministry assignments. Additionally, she began working with international interns and young volunteers serving at OMS headquarters. In November 2013, Beth transitioned to the Communications Department to serve as the prayer letter coordinator. She also writes blogs and articles. Writing is a love and hobby for her, so this new role brings with it the opportunity to tap into her creativity.
Beth grew up in northern Illinois, but in her teens, she and her siblings moved to Indiana after her father remarried following her mother’s death. She finished her high school career in Illinois, but attended and graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Upon graduation, Beth entered the secular workplace only to find little satisfaction from her employment. As her faith grew, her life’s journey began to take shape.
In the summer of 2010, just before leaving on a short-term mission trip to Alaska, Beth submitted a “Getting to Know You” questionnaire through the OMS website. A recruiter set up an appointment to meet upon her return. Having sensed God’s calling, she started and ended her search for a mission organization with One Mission Society.
Since joining One Mission Society, Beth has been on short-term trips to South Korea and Ukraine to participate in English camp ministries. These trips have enhanced her overall understanding of her role in the Great Commission.
