One Mission Society helps support and further ministry to make disciples of Jesus Christ in more than 78 countries around the world. Spend the summer serving alongside the event planning team as you assist with coordinating events for global leaders, developing plans for missionaries about to head overseas to help them transition well, and preparing for board meetings.
Through this internship you will learn more about event planning in a non-profit context, while being able to engage with active and retired missionaries.
Responsibilities
- Work as an important team member to help prepare for and execute several events/meetings that take place during June.
- Event planning tasks include, but are not limited to: shopping for supplies; transportation/airport rides; helping with snacks/meals; running Zoom and or A/V as needed; room set-up/tear down; putting welcome bags together; assisting with meeting logistics, etc..
- Communicate with missionaries and leaders to confirm travel and/or meeting details.
- Prepare meeting documents; including proofreading, editing, printing, and organizing.
- Assist the Global Ministries team with various projects.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Interested in data, HR management and non-profit work
- Proficient with Microsoft 365, especially Excel
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal
- Event planning experience
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at once
- Flexibility
- Ability to work both within a team and independently
- Valid US driver's license
- Must be able to go up and down stairs and lift up to 25 pounds
- Going into junior or senior year preferred
- Dates: May 19 - July 25, 2024
- Location: OMS Headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana
- Hours per week: 40
- Compensation: $10 an hour
- Housing: Included at OMS Headquarters

Interns have the option to take a short-term mission trip to Colombia during their paid internship. This is an incredible opportunity to visit an OMS field and serve alongside an OMS missionary team for 7-10 days. Possible locations are serving at an English camp in Hungary or working at a camp in Ecuador. Expenses for this trip must be raised by the intern; this trip is not paid for by One Mission Society.
