In Uganda, Pastor Wilberforce conducts monthly Engage trainings to spread the word about human trafficking prevention, and at those trainings, he always shares the Gospel. At one training, two men confessed that they planned to begin working as human traffickers the next day because they could earn a lot of money. They planned to lure vulnerable people into human trafficking with false job advertisements and educational opportunities.
Pastor Wilberforce gave glory to God for leading them to the training, where they learned more about trafficking. They learned that it causes many negative effects in communities locally, nationally, and internationally. They also learned about how God intends for us to live in fellowship with one another. By the end of the training, they understood that it is wrong to buy and sell people.
The two men repented, gave their lives to God, and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. This transformation is a testament to the power of the Gospel and the impact that HOPE61 is having globally.
