“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” Phil. 1:21.
Dayim* was an African believer whose life became a powerful testimony to God’s transforming grace. Two years ago, one of our trainers, M*, faithfully shared the Gospel with him. As Dayim heard the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit opened his heart, and he surrendered his life to Christ.
Soon afterward, Dayim was baptized and publicly declared his faith in Jesus. B* began discipling and mentoring him, helping him grow in God’s Word and in his walk with Christ. It quickly became clear that God had given Dayim a special gift and a bold spirit for evangelism.
Despite the challenges of following Jesus in a Muslim community, Dayim never hid his faith. He courageously shared the Gospel with his friends, relatives, and neighbors. In the last three months of his life, he was especially passionate about telling others about Jesus, faithfully proclaiming the hope of the Gospel wherever he could.
Dayim also used social media as a tool for God’s kingdom. Through his online witness, he shared Scripture, testimonies, and messages about Jesus. Many people engaged with his posts, and several began following Christ because of his faithful witness. He also had planned to become a Village Church Planting trainer with OMS.
After becoming seriously ill, Dayim was hospitalized for only four days before the Lord called him home. Although his earthly life ended sooner than anyone expected, his impact endures.
One of the most compelling testimonies came from his own family. Although they remain Muslim, they openly acknowledged the dramatic change they witnessed in his life. They testified that Dayim genuinely loved Jesus, faithfully read his Bible daily, and lived differently because of his relationship with Christ. His transformed life spoke louder than words.
Today, we rejoice that Dayim is with the Lord. His story reminds us that a life fully surrendered to Christ, no matter how brief, can bear eternal fruit. His faithful witness continues to inspire believers and to challenge us to boldly share the Gospel while we have the opportunity.
Please pray for Dayim’s family and friends that the testimony of his life will continue to draw them to Jesus Christ. Also pray for the new believers influenced by his ministry that they will remain steadfast and continue making disciples, just as Dayim did.
