A loud knock came at the front door. “Are you Mrs. Steel?” the officer asked.
After he spoke his next sentence, Valetta Steel would soon realize she was living her worst nightmare.
Valetta has walked through the valley of darkness seven times, at least. In a new, heart-wrenching yet inspiring documentary, How to Overcome Pain in Life? A Christian Missionary, Valetta Crumley, Tells You About Her Life. Valetta shares her story of facing suffering and finding hope through her faith in Jesus Christ.
She recounts some of the valleys she has endured, including being attacked by a murderer, losing multiple loved ones, and being lost at sea. Yet through all the trials, she declares, “Jesus was there. In all of them, I saw God's hand at work.”
During those difficult moments, she anchored herself in God’s Word and is thankful to Jesus for giving her a heart of compassion and a forgiving spirit. “Lord, what do you want me to learn from this? How can you use this?” Valetta continued to ask after experiencing the inconceivable.
She encourages those walking through their own valleys, saying that if God calls you somewhere, he will help you. She adds that he’s bigger than any problem we could face.
“Mother, you're smiling again,” said her son, Leon. “That’s because I’ve trusted Jesus with everything,” replied Valetta.
