Church Ministry
Get Started
Serve alongside OMS missionaries in Montevideo, Uruguay, doing various activities in a church plant!
Why Uruguay?
Why Uruguay?
Uruguay is unique, different, and likely a place none of your friends have explored yet. We love partnering with new friends to learn and grow together in this fascinating corner of an international city, where the only thing rarer than a Christian is a church family.
Montevideo offers a curious blend (culturally European, geographically South American).
The food is simple but satisfying (ideal for both carnivores and vegetarians). Spanish is the primary language, spoken warmly and often alongside other languages in this global context.
What You’ll Gain:
Come to Montevideo to grow your "soft" skill set through daily interactions across diverse economic, social, and cultural realities. You’ll meet people who may become lifelong friends (if you let them).
Language & Culture:
Spanish and English are widely spoken, but you’ll hear many other languages too. Be prepared for an additional learning curve with Southern Cone Spanish as you walk the Rambla and watch the sun set over the Río de la Plata.
Practical Considerations:
If you’re a gifted young person excited about the local church—and especially if you bring a needed skill set (e.g., audiovisual, music, youth work in English or Spanish)—we’re open to exploring additional support through the church.
What You'll Do:
Christ Church MVD will be your home base. We’re actively engaged in ministries and outreaches across the city, and we’ll help you find a good fit, whether you want to focus deeply or diversify your experience, to learn and to contribute.
