Serve in South Korea working with OMS missionaries and staff to mobilize young Koreans for missions!
In the first week of orientation, you will start to learn about Korean culture, train, and prepare for the ministry. You will share life with Korean and international missionaries, staff, and volunteers, experience Korean culture, and learn the Korean language. This ministry will involve travelling throughout Korea with Korean potential missionaries and MKs, staying with Korean host families and in guest houses, and mobilizing Korean young people for missions as you visit churches, schools, missions conferences, and elsewhere. You may also participate in various other ministries.
You'll also be poured into by a team of missionaries as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for this experience is that you will grow in your relationship with God, expand your skill set, be more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.
Responsibilities:
- Share God’s heart for the world and the call to missions with Korean young people.
- Provide assistance to OMS Korea staff in mobilizing and training Korean missionaries.
- Be prepared to live in close quarters with Koreans.
- Be willing to learn Korean culture and language.
Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Short-term missions experience required
- Some college preferred
- Completion of a missions course such as “Perspectives on the World Christian Movement” or “Kairos” preferred
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Good relational skills
- Desire to see Gospel transformation and missions mobilization
Other Information:
- You will be serving for three to six months (flexible dates any time of year).
- This is a volunteer internship that requires raising financial support through ministry partners.
