Youth Ministry
Get Started
Do you have a passion for engaging with people to share God and His love with them? Are you interested in experiencing what life and ministry in an intercultural context is like?
Embark on a mid-term opportunity to Japan, where you will have the chance to work with our team through sports ministry and youth outreach. Engage with not-yet-believing youth and young adults by building relationships and shining Christ’s light in a very dark country. Japan is one of the largest unreached people groups where Christians can freely share their faith (only 0.57% of the population follow Jesus).
You will also be an active part of the community life and general ministry of the OMS team at our campus in Higashimurayama. As part of your Embark experience, our team will invest in you and support you as you learn more about yourself, grow in your abilities, and discern how God may be leading you in the future.
If you have a heart for the lost, a willingness to grow and learn, and an interest in intercultural ministry, this Embark experience would be great for you. Opportunities for ministry projects during your time may also include ESL, media and communications, research, creative arts, and discipleship, depending on your giftings, interests, and prior experience.
During your time with Embark, you will serve with One Mission Society, build relationships with youth and young adults, receive mentorship from experienced missionaries, work alongside a team of other like-minded OMS interns, expand and hone your skill set, and grow in your ministry approach to evangelism and discipleship. Your time in Japan will include some Japanese lessons, so that you can communicate basic needs in Japanese. There will be some reading, preparation, and several Zoom calls that you will need to participate in before your trip.
