Join and serve alongside a team of missionaries in Asia/Oceania, where you'll get the opportunity to teach at a Bible college. This Embark experience is designed for Master of Divinity or Master of Theology students who are in the last year of their study program.
During this four-week experience, a pair of participants will live on the campus of an indigenous Bible school.

Ministry tasks will include:
- Teaching a one-week intensive course in Bible or Wesleyan Theology.
- Preaching for the school's spiritual renewal week.
- Co-teaching community outreach seminars with indigenous professors.
- Potentially preaching in a local church.
Note: All speaking engagements will have a translator provided.
Other activities may include:
- Spending time with the OMS team to see their ministries in business, international school teaching, and ministry administration.
- Following a Bible-school student during their weekend ministry assignment.
- 3-4 hours of language instruction to learn basic phrases that help with making friends and communicating basic needs.
- Other cultural activities such as exploring museums, local villages, places of worship, old temples, and more. The city is surrounded by nature experiences including volcanoes, ocean beaches, and waterfalls.
During your time with Embark, you will serve in your area of focus while participating in localized ministry experiences. A team of missionaries will also pour into you as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for this experience is that you will grow in your relationship with God, expand your skill set, be more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.
Requirements:
- Participants must be working on their Master of Theology or Master of Divinity (or must have already obtained one of those degrees). PhD students or graduates are also welcome.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Spiritual and emotional mature.
- Able to feed oneself spiritually through personal Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with other believers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain a calm and patient demeanor.
- Flexible.
- Willing to learn about other cultures and serve people from different cultures.
- Ability to withstand heat and humidity of a tropical climate.
Important Details:
- This opportunity takes place July 15 - August 15.
- You will live in an apartment near the school with one other Embarker or with a host family nearby.
- This is a volunteer program that requires raising financial support through ministry partners.
