  • Asia

    Guidance Counselor

    Help with career planning, guidance counseling and college application at an MK school in Asia. The ideal candidate would have experience in this field, but others with an interest or willingness to serve in this area would be considered. They should be familiar with the US university system and it would be great if they also knew about other university systems around the world. The ability to teach in some subject areas as well would be ideal.

    Are you a dynamic individual with a heart for students? Teach elementary students at an international school in Asia. Work alongside a multicultural staff team as you impact expatriate and local students for Christ through quality Christian education.     English Teacher (Junior High)

    We are looking for an inspiring teacher to teach junior high English here at an MK school in Asia. Ideally they will have some experience in teaching students for whom English is not their first language as students fall into this category. The teacher we are looking for will be able to use a variety of methods in the classroom to inspire the students to think critically about what they are learning. They will also be expected to be involved in the different activities of the school.

    Music Teacher

    Coordinate and teach the music program at an MK school. The teacher we are looking for will teach elementary music as well as music as a high school elective. They will coordinate the music for school events such as the school Christmas program. To be able to direct a choir would be desirable. So would the ability to teach students to play some musical instruments and direct a band or orchestra. They will also be expected to be involved in the different activities of the school.

    Campus Pastor

    We are looking for a person to lead the pastoral care at an international school. They would be responsible to organize weekly chapels for elementary and high school students. They will four organize camps (one for each age level) throughout the year. They will teach a bible class and run an after-school club that promotes prayer and mission awareness. Other activities include worship nights, organizing students into small groups, informally interacting with students. They will be responsible for looking after the pastoral wellbeing of students and staff at the school.

    ESL Intern - Spring 2018 (critical need)

    Transform lives in Hungary as you lead three weekly ESL classes for children and youth. You'll work directly with students and serve alongside the OMS Hungary team. Design and implement lesson plans and materials based on your understanding of students' needs and best practices in ESL. You'll be involved in other team ministries and activities, including planning for summer 2018 English camps. Gain practical ESL experience and missions exposure as part of the OMS Hungary team in Budapest.

    Instructional Aide (critical need)

    Provide specialized support for a high-functioning autistic student so that he is able to be part of a normal educational environment at an English-speaking missionary school. Participate in classes with this student during the day as you creatively make the curriculum accessible and help him complete assignments. Assist with other functions throughout the day, including transitions between classes. As an instructional aide, you’ll have a huge impact on this student and enable his parents to increase their ministry effectiveness in Hungary.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide assistance in completing teacher-directed activities. Work to tutor, reinforce, and/or follow-up learning activities and model appropriate skills and behaviors
    • Modify activities, assignments and/or materials as needed, under the direction of the teacher or therapist.
    • Collaborate with faculty in order to promote understanding of the student’s needs. Attend faculty meetings and other school events as required.
    • Communicate with parents about homework, upcoming projects, socialization issues, etc. as applicable.
    • Encourage the development of independence while maintaining constant supervision.
    • Help with relating to other students.
    • Assist with other tasks, which may include eating, bathroom needs, dressing, navigating stairs and hallways, and drop-off/pick-up time. Perform other duties as assigned when the student does not need direct supervision.

    Sports Ministry Outreach (critical need)

    Lead sports ministries at a newly-built sports court to build relationships with youth and young adults. As individuals accept Christ, engage them in discipleship through replicating small groups. Sports include basketball, volleyball, tennis, flag football, futsal, and table tennis. Equip and encourage church members to be actively involved in sports outreach and discipleship.

    Maintenance Manager

    Put your maintenance gift to use to further ministry in Japan. Serve as the maintenance manager for the OMS grounds by performing indoor and outdoor maintenance such as landscaping, minor indoor repairs, and light carpentry. Help with small repairs at the OMS-affiliated seminary and local churches, and supervise work teams that come to do maintenance projects. In this role you'll support missionaries, churches, and the seminary while also sharing Christ with vendors and other contacts.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain the One Mission Society buildings and grounds in a cost-effective manner so that they are safe, attractive, and functional

    English Evangelism and Discipleship

    In this role, you'll make disciples who make disciples. Equip local pastors in evangelism through English evangelism strategies. Encourage and train local pastors and leaders to lead and replicate small groups utilizing Train & Multiply, an obedience-based discipleship tool. Other English ministries may include crafts, cooking classes, conversational English, coffee house ministries, and English Bible studies.

    Pastors and other leaders are often overworked and stressed, and they often lack someone to talk with confidentially. Pastoral care is vital to the health of these individuals and the churches and ministries they lead. Fill this critical need by exhorting and encouraging pastors and other church leaders in Mexico. Provide missionary care and support, mentoring, discipling, and prayer to see individuals and ministries flourish. Foster community by serving as a bridge between One Mission Society and partner churches.

    Essential Duties

    Treasurer

    If you have strong analytical and mathematical skills as well as experience in the area of finances, the Mozambique field has a critical need for a treasurer. As treasurer, you will manage the field financial structure, serve as the direct liaison between the field and OMS World Headquarters with regard to all financial issues, and relate directly to the various financial institutions (seminary, school) in Mozambique on a daily and weekly basis.

    Physical Therapist

    Helping Hands is a ministry to mobilize the church in Mozambique to compassionately reach out to those with disabilities. There are varied opportunities for those called to ministry among individuals with special needs including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nutritionists and others with skills and interest in sign language/Makaton. We are also seeking people with practical/technical abilities to support the fabrication and maintenance of wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

    Academic Director - Christian Academy in Mozambique

    Christian Academy in Mozambique (CAM) exists to provide high-quality education in a Christian environment that equips each student spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically to be effective ambassadors for Christ and effective servants in society.     Human Trafficking Prevention Trainer

    Do you have a passion to prevent human trafficking? Conduct HOPE61 training and follow-up so that local believers are equipped to engage vulnerable people in their communities and reduce their vulnerability to becoming involved in trafficking. HOPE61 focuses on preventing trafficking through culturally-appropriate methods of intentional evangelism and continuing discipleship. HOPE61 trainers work alongside national church denominations and other partners around the world.

    Opportunities include countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Serve as a residential missionary for two or more years, or as an itinerating missionary traveling 1-4 times a year.

    Church Multiplication Facilitator (critical need)

    Is your passion coming alongside others and encouraging them to reach the goals they’ve set? Do you like to provide training and facilitate learning? Do you desire to see national church planters and pastors grow in depth and see the Lord multiply churches throughout the world? Use your gifts to come alongside national pastors and encourage and hold them accountable to the plans and goals the Lord has led them in. Openings available for English or French speakers. Join Every Community for Christ, the church multiplication ministry of OMS, as a church multiplication facilitator.

    While continuing to live in your home country, you will travel to your assigned country or countries three to four times per year to promote church multiplication. While at home, your role will be to support the ECC ministry in your assigned country or countries through prayer, follow-up visits and preparation for the next visit.

    Current top needs include French speakers for African countries, as well as Spanish speakers.

    Associate Church Multiplication Facilitator (critical need)

    Do you have a passion to care for leaders and to see them grow in their faith and be better equipped and encouraged in their ministries? Do you desire to be involved in the spiritual aspect of church multiplication? Join us in helping church planting leaders reach their nations for Christ. Become an associate church multiplication facilitator (ACMF) through Every Community for Christ, the church multiplication ministry of One Mission Society. Opportunities are available in Asia, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe.

    The ACMF is a part-time role, working under the authority of the Church Multiplication Facilitator (CMF) for your assigned country. While continuing to live in your home country, you will travel to your assigned country or countries one to two times per year to assist the CMF in promoting church multiplication. While at home, your role will be to support the ECC ministry in your assigned country or countries through prayer, follow-up visits and preparation for the next visit.

    Adventures in English Language Guide - Summer 2019

    Serve as an English Language Guide in South Korea in July of 2019. Adventures in English (AIE) is a two-week intensive English camp that primarily serves Korean seminary students and pastors, as well as young adults. Guide students in English through worship, outreach, Bible study, and cultural understanding. Build cross-cultural friendships with Korean Christians as you help them grow in their English ability. A week of orientation is included in this opportunity to learn about Korean culture and how to teach English to Korean students. An optional week involves teaching English to refugees in South Korea.

    Approximate 2019 dates:

    Missions Investment Advisor (critical need)

    As a missions investment advisor, you’ll play a critical role in helping OMS ministries and missionaries transform lives around the world.

    Create and implement OMS development activities within assigned geographic area to generate funding and maintain relationships for the ministries of One Mission Society and our national partners and programs. Work focus includes developing current donors and expanding the OMS donor base with new donors.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify and cultivate friends from your assigned existing donors, as well as utilizing your personal and professional spheres of influence to expand the OMS donor base in your region.
    • Qualify and implement a moves management system of a donor portfolio of at least 200 names (individuals, strategic churches, businesses, etc.) with emphasis on developing major gifts, and utilizing OMS ministry networks to regularly expand your list.
    • Represent the ministry regionally, including but not limited to speaking to various groups and individual leaders and business organizations.

    In this role, you'll provide critical support to the Marketing and Development teams to engage donors and other constituents with One Mission Society and further ministries around the world. Use your strengths in administration, planning, and communications as a key member of the Marketing and Development teams.

    Key Responsibilities
    Administration and Planning

    • Participate in and record notes for meetings
    • Help plan, organize, and execute small-scale development or marketing events (seminars, training sessions, etc.)

    Production Supervisor - Train and Multiply (critical need)

    Supervise production of Train and Multiply (T&M), an obedience-based discipleship tool that equips church and lay leaders in church multiplication. This simple, effective tool is currently available in 39 languages and is being used around the world to ignite and empower church planting movements. As the production supervisor for Train and Multiply, you'll have an impact on people coming to know Christ through the impact of T&M.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain effective communication and coordination with translators.
    • Ensure efficient, effective and timely production of new language versions of T&M and rewrites of existing language materials.
    • Provide supervision for T&M production specialists and production volunteers.
    • Provide supervision for the ECC T&M Translator Liaison.
    • Ensure that training provided to T&M production volunteers is appropriate and effective.

    Event Coordinator

    Plan and execute events for One Mission Society to further our mission of making disciples and transforming lives around the world. You'll help attendees deepen their engagement with One Mission Society and with global missions. Coordinate every aspect of event planning, including venue selection, program creation, promotion, and execution. Lead teams of staff and volunteers to provide an excellent experience for attendees. Typical events include fundraising and development events, staff events, and missions conferences that attract anywhere from 50 to 500 people. As you coordinate events, you'll be making a significant impact in furthering the Great Commission and giving one billion people the opportunity to hear and believe the Gospel.

    Online Training Manager

    Develop and deliver effective, informal online training to empower lay leaders and church leaders to multiply disciples and plant multiplying churches. Promote the use of online training among church planters, and work with other leaders to develop key content.     Associate Director for Church Multiplication

    Assist the Director for Church Multiplication in assessing ministry needs and developing and delivering appropriate, contextualized training to enhance the prayer, evangelistic, discipleship, leadership training and church multiplication ministries of Every Community for Christ, the church multiplication catalyst of One Mission Society. Assisting the Director for Church Multiplication in developing ministry through coaching, pastoring, supervising, supporting, encouraging, equipping, evaluating and holding accountable the assigned church multiplication facilitators so that people accept Christ and multiplying churches are established throughout the world.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Help to provide ongoing training, coaching and support for ECC Church Multiplication Facilitators in interactive adult education methodology and specific training programs.
    • Supervise and coach church multiplication facilitators as directed to ensure the fulfillment of duties and responsibilities.
    • Assist the Director for Church Multiplication in providing pastoral care to the church multiplication facilitators through pastoral concern, encouragement, prayer, personal spiritual accountability and leadership.
    • Receive, review and analyze church multiplication facilitator country visit reports for assigned countries and recommend appropriate plans of action.
    • Develop an open coaching relationship with assigned church multiplication facilitators in person and through phone calls and e-mail messages.
    • Communicate the vision for evangelistic church planting and church multiplication.
    • Contribute to the development and strengthening of the partnership and unity between the National Churches and the missionary body. Promotes effective and open communication in each country by including all accepted One Mission in-country leaders, in communication between ECC personnel and other IMD personnel regarding the ECC ministry.
    • Help the Director for Church Multiplication to develop training solutions that are reproducible and readily transferable to overcome obstacles and take advantage of opportunities for effective, healthy evangelistic church multiplication.
    • Works with the church multiplication facilitators to establish three month follow-up training and accountability measures for personnel who have received training in order to monitor implementation of lessons learned through training provided.

    Communications Associate - Radio-TV 4VEH (critical need)

    Contribute to the kingdom impact of Radio-TV 4VEH in Haiti and among our global supporter base through the role as a US-based communications associate with this dynamic media ministry. Work closely with the 4VEH Fundraising, Marketing & Communications Director to assist in planning, researching, writing, editing, designing and producing a variety of communications resources – including print and online, written and visual – to inform, inspire and engage constituents as they partner with 4VEH ministry through giving, praying, and going. Collaborate with key stakeholders within One Mission Society globally, particularly fundraising, marketing, communications, and short-term teams departments in their efforts to communicate 4VEH needs, opportunities, and impact with various audiences.

    Essential Duties

    • Assist in the planning, creation and production of news and feature stories, publicity materials, media releases, photographs, videos, marketing resources and other strategic and targeted communications as required to inform, inspire and engage potential and current supporters.
    • Help maintain an updated, engaging, and user-friendly supporter-focused online presence, including websites, social media platforms and networks.
    • Through regular trips to 4VEH in Haiti, use journalism and storytelling skills to identify and gather 4VEH-centric stories, information, photo and video resources to share the 4VEH story with constituents.
    • Assist in building stronger relationships with donors and supporters, through producing donor-focused materials, including regular ministry reports for distribution to donors and other stakeholders, to update them on ministry effectiveness, impact and needs, including print newsletters, email updates, blog posts and other website content, social media posts and for in-person presentations for church and other group gatherings.

    Editor (critical need)

    As the editor, you'll inspire individuals to engage more deeply in missions and OMS-related ministries through impactful written content. Clearly communicate stories of how God is at work through people and ministries around the world to constituents through a variety of editorial platforms, including books, web content, and promotional materials.

    Maintain consistent messaging through every communication piece that is produced, includingthe OMS website, promotional material, OMS Outreach magazine, promotional material, development pieces, event material, and other written content. Help ensure eachcommunication piece across the organization has a consistent look, feel, and brand based on the mission and vision of One Mission Society.

    The editor may also be responsible for assisting in the production of additional OMS publications and electronic media, including writing, researching, fact checking, and other projects as needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in researching and editing articles for OMS Outreach magazine. Contribute to writing and editing stories for the OMS website, including monthly spotlight content.
    • Edit promotional material for One Mission Society, including brochures, welcome letters, thank you letters, and receipt letters.
    • Work cross-departmentally to write and/or edit content for a variety of ministries and events across OMS. Content may include ministry highlights and reports, children's resources, promotional materials, constituent materials, prayer resources, tributes and memorials, and more.
    • Editall books by OMS authors and missionaries. Work with OMS partner Aneko Press to publish these books.
    • Edit, post, and maintain missionary profiles on the OMS website.
    • Serve as back-up for additional responsibilities, including book sales and prayer letter editing.
    • Maintain OMS Style Guide.
