Larry and Susan Weil
Larry and Susan Weil have served with One Mission Society in Mozambique since October 1996. They arrived two weeks after Christian Academy in Mozambique (CAM) officially opened.
Larry has been the mission treasurer and administrator since 2000. He facilitates maintenance at the school and mission campus. Larry has overseen various construction projects at CAM, and the remodeling of missionary homes on the campus.
Susan has been the director of CAM since 2006 and teaches various subjects, including music. Larry and Susan have been mentors to the Living Word Evangelical Church (the OMS-related denomination) in the city of Maputo since 2003. It has been rewarding to see the spiritual growth in the leadership.
A 1980 graduate of Seattle Pacific University with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology/anthropology, Larry also attended the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1982 with an associate of arts degree in mortuary science. Larry worked in funeral homes from 1980–1995 and then went to India from 1995–1996 to train the business manager of Allahabad Bible Seminary on the computer.
Susan graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1980 with a bachelor of science degree in foods/nutrition. She has worked in various medical offices doing clerical and bookkeeping jobs. Susan served as an office manager for a family practice clinic for four years before going to India, where she directed the seminary choir and did clerical work. In December 2017, she received her masters of education in administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
The Weils were involved in missions long before their trip to India. Susan’s parents, Nathan and Fern Krampitz, served 32 years with OMS in India, where Susan spent 12 years of her life. The Weils served on the worship team at their home church as well as the elder board and missions committee. They count it a great blessing to serve the Lord in Mozambique.
