There is an African proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” The vision of “a church in every African village by 2050” cannot be reached by going alone. The apostle Paul used the analogy of the human body to describe the body of Christ in Romans 12 and Ephesians 4. We each (personally and organizationally) have a role to play in reaching the African continent for Christ. We can accomplish more together.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Persecuted Church
Churches are being burned and Christians are being martyred in several African nations. New converts are frequently ostracized from their families when they become Christ followers.
Ebola Crisis
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), South Sudan, and Uganda are currently issued “Level 4: Do Not Travel” advisories on the U.S. Department of State website. In the DRC, a pastor and several others have died from Ebola. Donate to the DRC Crisis Response.
VCP Trainers
These faithful men and women provide leadership in our training centers which serve as the VCP “engine.” Pray for their encouragement as they mentor and coach church planters.
Church Planters and Pastors
Church planters face many challenges as they evangelize in their villages and form worshiping groups. Pray for wisdom and courage. Pray that physical needs will be met for them and their families.
VCP Leadership (Coordinators and Supervisors)
More than 100 men and women provide oversight and leadership for the work of VCP across Africa. Pray Psalm 78:72 over them that they will lead with skillful hands and integrity of heart.
WANT TO PARTNER WITH VCP?
Whether through prayer, financial support, shared resources, or a call to go, VCP invites churches, denominations, organizations, and individuals to partner with us in seeing the continent of Africa marked as a nation for Christ.
