A church in every African village by 2050

Our Vision

Village Church Planting (VCP) has a vision to plant a church in every village in Africa by 2050. However, this goal cannot be achieved by OMS alone; the approach has always been to partner with indigenous evangelical African denominations to train their men and women to plant churches in villages across the vast continent. VCP uses training centers as hubs to train and equip church planters to enter villages that have yet to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A key success factor for VCP is a simple but important commitment: Africans leading Africans. Since 2020, African leadership has been central to the work, and in the intervening years, VCP has more than doubled its impact.

Strength also comes from the depth of leadership experience. About 20 percent of VCP’s current top-level leaders have 20 or more years of experience with VCP.
