Ecuador - Embark - Discipleship through Sports

The Latin America region has a vision to transform lives in dynamic communities. You'll serve in your area of focus while being part of localized summer ministry experiences. You'll also be poured into by a team of missionaries as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for this experience is that you will grow in your relationship with God, expand your skill set, be more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.

Using your abilities and love of soccer, you will connect with Ecuadorian youth and encourage them to follow Christ alongside missionaries in the town of Loja.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Connect with and encourage Ecuadorian youth to seek the Lord and follow Christ.
  • Provide quality soccer training.
  • Model the love of Christ in all activities.
  • Share your testimony, encourage Ecuadorian youth, play soccer, and experience Christ at work.
Skills
  • Intermediate Spanish preferred but not required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Flexibility in engaging new people from different cultural backgrounds and languages.
  • Comfortable sharing and talking with others.
  • Able to relax and have fun in varied environments.
  • Willing to serve in a variety of capacities.
  • Understand and have developed abilities in soccer through playing on organized teams.
Other Information
  • You will be serving from early-June to early-August.
  • You will live at Camp Pallatanga in the dorms.
  • Cost is $4,300 (includes travel expenses).
  • This is a volunteer internship that requires raising financial support through ministry partners.
During your time with Embark you will serve with One Mission Society, build relationships with youth and young adults, receive mentorship from experienced missionaries, work alongside a team of other like-minded OMS interns, expand and hone your skill set, and grow in your ministry approach to evangelism, discipleship and communicating your testimony.
