Multiplying Global Impact
Investing in People and Partners
In Colombia, a bitter young woman planning revenge on one of her neighbors hears about the love of Christ and has her life transformed … In Southeast Asia, a Buddhist monk accepts Christ after hearing the Gospel from a Christian farmer and church planter … In Hungary, an English camp ministry leads to Gospel sharing and salvation for multiple people … In African villages, newly planted churches help transform whole communities where there has never before been a fellowship of believers …
Each of these life-changing events might seem far removed from Greenwood, Indiana, the home of One Mission Society’s (OMS) World Headquarters. But there is a very real and vital connection between them. The missionaries and staff serving at our headquarters make a global impact as they work with our field missionaries and national partners. Without that support, the efforts of those serving overseas would not be nearly as effective.
In July, we released our 2020-21 Global Impact Report. It includes highlights of what has been accomplished for God’s glory by OMS over the past 18 months.
By giving to OMS’ Global Impact Fund, you help provide the essential support undergirding this work.
To illustrate how the Global Impact Fund is used, OMS pays 1,390 local workers in more than 40 countries. These are trusted people who train others of their nation to make disciples and plant churches. Sending this money to them each month involves an often-challenging series of transactions between our office in Greenwood, Indiana, and these workers, some of whom minister in security-sensitive locations. We use the Global Impact Fund to help sustain the related costs for these transactions and many other critical support ministries.
To maximize this impact, OMS must invest in infrastructure, just as a commercial business does to grow and become more fruitful. We need highly skilled people in management, finance, communications, and human resources to provide the services our missionaries and partners depend on. We also need up-to-date technology and computer systems to maintain high productivity and efficiency.
As a faith-based non-profit organization, OMS does not have the same access to capital that a for-profit corporation has. We do not use debt to finance any of our initiatives, nor do we have access to the stock and bond markets. We rely 100% on the generous support of donors.
The Lord has blessed OMS with strong growth in ministry outreach over its 120-year history. When you give here to the Global Impact Fund (project #408400), your sacrificial contribution ensures that OMS ministries run smoothly and successfully to accomplish the Lord’s work throughout 75 countries.
