Discipleship and Sports Intern- Colombia 2022

Discipleship and Sports Intern- Colombia 2022

The Latin America region has a vision to transform lives in dynamic communities. As an intern, you'll serve in your area of focus while being part of localized summer ministry experiences. You'll also be poured into by a team of missionaries as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for the internship experience is that you will grow in your relationship with God, expand your skill set, be more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.

You will serve with either FutSatura or the Christian Union Sports Club (both of which are OMS Colombia partners) to assist in the soccer ministry. Using your abilities and love of soccer, you will connect with Colombian youth and encourage them to follow Christ.

  • Follow directions and work in a team environment.
  • Connect with and encourage Colombian youth to seek the Lord and follow Christ.
  • Provide quality soccer training.
  • Model the love of Christ in all activities.
  • Share your testimony, encourage Colombian youth, play soccer, and experience Christ at work.
  • Must be willing to participate in several Zoom calls prior to trip to discuss expectations and process.
  • Intermediate Spanish preferred but not required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Flexibility in engaging new people from different cultural backgrounds and languages.
  • Comfortable sharing and talking with others.
  • Able to relax and have fun in varied environments.
  • Willing to serve in a variety of capacities.
  • Understand and have developed abilities in soccer through playing on organized teams.
