Church Ministries - Guayaquil, Ecuador

The Latin America region has a vision to transform lives in dynamic communities. As an intern, you'll serve in your area of focus while being part of localized summer ministry experiences. You'll also be poured into by a team of missionaries as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for the internship experience is that you will grow in your relationship with God, expand your skill set, be more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.

Chongon is a ministry that was planted by OMS missionaries on the south side of Guayaquil. You will come and work with the kids and youth of the area. This would also include teaching in the areas of music, art and design along with the opportunity to teach English as a Second Language to the kids and also to the adults of the area. You will also provide tutoring the youth in various school subjects. Each of these ministries would also include the opportunity for discipleship and evangelism.

We are looking for two to four interns to serve in the following ministries in some capacity:

  • Art and Design Ministry
    • Teach art classes, help paint and decorate Casa Agua Viva.
Skills
  • High School diploma or GED required, some college preferred
  • Flexible being around new people with whom you may not share much language compatibility or background similarities.
  • Comfortable sharing and talking with others.
  • Able to relax and have fun in varied environments.
  • Willing to serve in a variety of capacities.

Other Information

  • Cost $5,420 plus travel expenses.
  • This is a volunteer internship that requires raising financial support through ministry partners.
During your time with Embark you will serve with One Mission Society, build relationships with youth and young adults, receive mentorship from experienced missionaries, work alongside a team of other like-minded OMS interns, expand and hone your skill set, and grow in your ministry approach to evangelism, discipleship and communicating your testimony.
