About This Role
One Mission Society launched One Mission Society Global to move from a US-based missions organization to one that fully supports global missions movements, taking the gospel from anywhere to anywhere. In this role, you'll play a critical part in helping us navigate that transition. We're looking for someone with a heart for sharing the Gospel, financial expertise, and strong leadership skills. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct financial efforts for One Mission Society Global (OMSG), including developing the OMSG budget
  • Assist the OMSG President with the development of the annual OMSG financial plan and strategy
  • Execute the OMSG financial plan and strategy.
  • Work with the OMS USA Finance Department to separate global and signatory (affiliate) financial processes and responsibilities.
  • Develop plans for increasing revenue while managing expenses across OMSG.
  • Provide finance-related assistance to other departments and signatories as needed
  • Coordinate with OMS USA to select and implement an accounting system that meets the needs of OMSG
  • Wisely steward OMSG investments in accordance with board policy
  • Share financial reports with the board and other stakeholders on a timely basis, including scheduled reports and potential financial challenges or opportunities
  • Provide financial assistance and support as needed to OMSG regions, fields, hubs, and signatories, including advising on financial regulations, establishing best practices, and assisting in the recruitment and training of financial staff as needed

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
  • CPA preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer, preferably in a nonprofit environment

Skill Requirements

  • Proven track record and experience in managing a complex, changing organization to carry out the mission and values of the ministry and managing cash flow
  • Experience with providing management and the board with valuable financial and operational reports coupled with the ability to translate complex financial data into presentable and useable management information.
  • Ability to develop personal and professional credibility, gain respect and build confidence throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrated excellence in business management practices including fiscal management, cost control, strategic planning, budgeting and investment management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to relate well cross-culturally
  • High levels of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability and willingness to raise and maintain financial support through ministry partners, or volunteer time

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Fully remote option available
  • Part-time (24-32 hours per week)
  • Some travel may be required domestically and/or internationally (temporarily paused due to COVID-19)
  • This is a support-based role that involves raising 100% of financial support for salary or volunteering time
