Doug and Janis Hoffman

Doug Hoffman serves as executive director of Mercy, Inc. God’s call to ministry on the lives of Doug and his wife Jan is best summoned up in the comments of Bob Fetherlin, President of One Mission Society: “It is with gratitude to God that we announce that Doug Hoffman will be assuming the role of Executive Director of Mercy, Inc. as of January 1, 2018. Mercy, Inc. is a Christian relief and development organization deeply committed to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. This organization works closely alongside One Mission Society in its global effort to see at least a billion people have the opportunity to hear, understand and believe the Good News over ten years. By integrating the verbal call to repentance and faith in Christ alone for salvation with compassionate acts of love, meeting some of the practical needs of people in Christ’s name, hearts are opened to the Gospel so that disciples can be made, and new worshiping groups can be established. We see Doug Hoffman as having the needed gifts, skills, and experience to lead Mercy, Inc. to a new level of impact and effectiveness.”

Doug grew up on a family farm in South Dakota and retired from 42 years of working as a chief executive officer in four separate farmer cooperatives, the past 23 years with Wilco, which has 900 employees in 26 locations in Oregon and Washington. Doug’s passion has been to improve the how, why, and where people enjoy life and what they do and continue to serve on the Boards for the Oregon FFA Foundation, REAL Oregon, and Agricultural Advisory Council at Corban University, and to volunteer at Oregon Youth Authority. He is involved in his local church, Salem Evangelical Church, in missions and discipleship.

Doug and Jan, married 43 years, live in Keizer, Oregon, near their three children and four grandchildren.
